A Japanese restaurant concept in London, blending traditional elegance and modern minimalism to create a refined, authentic dining experience.
This project was created for a Japanese restaurant located in the heart of London, looking to establish a distinct identity, something elegant, immersive, and far removed from the typical Asian fusion look seen across the city.
The founder’s vision was to build a brand that honors Japanese culture while embracing modern design, a place where every detail, from the logo to the website layout, reflects precision, calm, and authenticity. The goal was a digital experience as refined and balanced as the cuisine itself.
With that brief, I set out to design an identity that merges japanese tradition with contemporary London sophistication, clean lines, muted tones, and a sense of quiet confidence at the heart of its branding.
The result is OKIBI, a complete creative concept built from scratch, covering branding, visual direction, and web design. The website was designed to feel like the restaurant itself: warm, calming, minimalist, and centered around the idea of balance, the essence of Japanese culture.
This project brought together my skills in branding, design, and storytelling, transforming a cultural concept into a cohesive digital experience. It explores how heritage, simplicity, and modern aesthetics can harmonize to create a brand that feels both timeless and contemporary, one that elevates how a restaurant presents itself and connects emotionally with its guests.
